about

Leaning more deeply into new artistic processes and creative collaborations, 'Intermission: Strings I' gives a glimpse into musical experimentation while writing string parts for the 'Abandoned Pianos' project.

After several rehearsals, these three tracks were recorded at the Conseil des arts de Montréal while prototyping for a new live performance format. Later, these pieces would help form the basis for works like 'Forever Meditations', for double bass and live electronics. 'Intermission: Strings I' captures a snapshot of increased rigor with string writing and instrumental composition, all while taking valuable input from the project's numerous collaborators.
